NEW POLICY UPDATES
1) For immediate shipment of any eggs/and or poultry we request US Postal Money orders, Bank wires, or paypal. If a personal check is received there could be as much as a two week delay in shipment.
2) We reserve the right to not sell any or all birds to any potential buyer if they have not paid for the birds and/or have not sent a deposit. Once a quote has been made and payment in the way of deposit or full payment has occurred we are committed in selling the birds to the individual provided there has not been a tragedy or loss of birds due to predators.
3) Once a quote has been made to an individual it is expected that a decision to purchase the birds is made within 2 days & a commitment is made by either paying in full or a deposit is made by paypal, bank wire, or by sending a US Postal money Order overnight. We otherwise can not hold the birds.
4) Birds are sold on a first come first basis. I receive phone calls and emails daily & I can tell you birds are available now, but 15 minutes later or 2 days later the birds might not be available. The demand is very big for these beautiful Jersey giants. If you are very serious about purchasing birds then once a price is quoted I would move quickly is the best advice I can give.
5) If you are not able to receive the birds at the selected for shipment and/or pick-up ,,,,,,,,,,,the birds may or may not be available from that specific group & there could be a waiting period of 2+ months. In a matter of week or more some birds will be in a higher price category (if unsexed birds are ordered those are at a less price vs birds that are old enough to be sexed).
6) All baby chicks are prepaid before eggs are placed in the incubator.
(7) If the birds and/or hatching eggs are available then the order will be filled as the item is available. One should check on the availability of started and/or adult birds before payment is made. Special Ordered birds will not be grown past 10 weeks of age or until sexed if pullets and/or roos are desired as this ties up facility and there is added cost to feed the bird to an older age.
IF WE ARE NOT ABLE TO SUPPLY THE ITEM ORDERED............ THEN WE WILL REFUND YOUR MONEY. I do sometimes have a need for additional roosters & will swap chicks, started birds, or adults with individuals that I know have a good clean and healthy flock and that are within driving distance.
(8) When picking up your chick, started and/adults or hatching eggs buyer should inspect the order at the post office & in the event there are any losses it should be documented and post marked by the post office. The buyer will contact Maria's Jersey giants stating the problem & the documentation needs to be mailed before any refunds and/or replacements occur.
As of now.............................dead birds and or broken eggs have not been an issue. Sometimes a chick will die upon arrival however I do send a couple extras along with extra eggs in the case of somebody purchasing hatching eggs.
(9) Both prepaid hatching egg orders and/or prepaid baby chick orders are filled on a first come basis. The buyer will be notified of possible shipping dates & will be aware of upcoming hatches. All newly hatched chicks need to be sent immediately as they need the nourishment to feed off the yolk for 3-5 days during shipment. These chicks can not be held over for shipment later. (this would be at additional cost to the buyer and chicks would be in the 4-6 week price category). The chicks have to be sent when I say they are available otherwise I have to find buyers for hatch dates whereby I thought were previously sold on the selected date.
(10) If a person has prepaid for eggs they have the option to apply that money towards baby chicks. Otherwise the buyer will not be credited on a baby chick order if they change their mind about getting chicks period. Any monies paid toward chicks can only be applied to an egg order if the eggs have not been placed in the incubator whereby the order is in process. We understand that there might be certain days whereby people vocation & want their order at certain times and we will try to work with folks the best we can........................however if I get 2+ people that change their minds about chick order dates then that leaves me with the added cost of growing birds that were otherwise prepaid and sold.
(11) Our price list is subject to change in price and availability.
(12) Once birds have been shipped and have arrived in good condition we can not be responsible for the future health of the birds. At some point in any birds lifetime they are subject to colds such as humans are. We recommend that you avoid buying birds for sale barns and/or from individuals that you do not know as this is the way to introduce diseases to your flock. If you should buy from other flocks please keep those new birds along with any purchased birds from me separate from each other for up to 30 days. ( Once birds leave from our farm they might encounter possibly sick birds while in transit. ) We recommend that you give electrolytes & vitamins for your birds upon arrival and for up to 7-10 days.
(13) The photos and information on this website are copyrighted and are not to be used without my consent. Please do not use my name on websites/auctions for the selling of eggs and/or birds. Once my birds are used in other breeding operations whereby breeding standards perhaps differ and whereby other bloodlines are used.... the offspring may or may not be the best representation of the breed. It takes years to establish a good reputation with fellow poultry fanciers by doing good business.
Our Jersey eggs are known for excellent fertility & other eggs from other folks might result in a poor hatch.
(14) We however can not guarantee the hatchability of eggs due to conditions beyond our control.
(15) All chicks and/birds are sold ultimately as pets- We do not guarantee that the birds are show quality even though we strive
towards show quality. Birds are doing great at 4-H shows and winning at some APA shows as reported by happy owners.
